At around age 8 I started playing the violin and singing in Staffordshire County Choir. I quickly realised that music was something that I loved, and something that seemed to come naturally to me. At age 9 I got a keyboard for Christmas and started to teach myself to play. By the time I started having piano lessons at age 13 I was ready start working on Grade 3 ABRSM Piano. I took the exam and passed with Distinction and from that day on, playing the piano became my main passion. I attended Hertfordshire and Essex High School in Bishops Stortford. During my time at Herts and Essex  I gained Music GCSE, two Music A Levels, Grade 5 Theory of Music, Grade 5 Violin and Grade 8 Piano.

 

I graduated in 1996 from Colchester Institute's School of Music with a BA (Hons) degree in Music. My major vocational studies were 'Music in Education' and 'Music for People with Special Needs. I also obtained my Grade 8 Singing whilst at Colchester Institute.

Shortly after graduating, I began teaching Singing, Music Theory and piano lessons privately at Liberty Hall Music School in High Barnet, and also taught in Primary and Secondary Schools throughout North London for Barnet Council.

 

Since the birth of my first child in 2001, I have continued to teach Piano lessons, Singing lessons and Music theory lessons from my home in Hatfield, Hertfordshire where I live with my two children. My pupils travel from St Albans, Welwyn Garden City, Potters Bar, High Barnet, and other areas in Hertfordshire and North London. I am a keen performer and enjoy arranging and writing songs of my own.
